5 Ways to Lose Weight Before the Prom
Losing weight is no mystery, nor is it some big secret that is hidden by the weight-loss Gods. Being that you are young it is even easier than you think. There are just a few simple changes you need to make in order to make your body red carpet worthy. Follow these 5 easy tips and watch the magic happen.
1. Drink water. I know it's hard to cut out your favorite drinks at first but even juices carry heavy sugars that pack the pounds and cause many health problems. Sports drinks, sodas, and flavored water are not the best things to drink if you want to slim down for Prom 2014. Try putting fruits and veggies in your water. They are much healthier and make for an interesting snack. Cucumbers are very refreshing when placed in a nice cold glass of ice water. Glam up your water and notice a major difference in not only your weight, but your over-all health.
2. Take the stairs. This activity is so simple yet often forgotten and being from an elevator and escalator country it is very easy to miss out on the advantages that stairs hold for health, weight maintenance and weight loss. Before you know if taking the stairs will be so easy you won't think twice about using that elevator at the local shopping mall. Great legs are needed when wearing short, party dresses!
3. Join the team and stay active. Sports are a great way to hang out with your friends, take up much desired space in the year book and drop those extra pounds so you can wear that mermaid gown to the prom in style. Exercise three to four days a weeks, for at least an hour to see results.
4. Eat often. Yes! Eating Five to six meals a day is allowed. Make sure you’re snacking on healthy foods, like nuts, fruits, and veggies. Salads are great and very healthy, but if they are not for you try juicing your fruits and veggies. They make a great, filling snack and will create the look you want to have when dancing under the spotlights in a strapless maxi.
5. Weight train. Yes ladies we too can weight train. Toning your arms and legs is important because it creates a great foundation for that amazing couture dress you'll have hanging in your closet. Heavy dumbbells are not needed; one to two pound weights are just fine. Squats will become your best friend as they will firm and tighten your thighs and rear.
Follows these tips and you will begin to see a major difference in your overall appearance and the way you feel. You'll remember the Prom for the rest of your life, so make sure your health is your top priority and the rest will follow. After all you want to look your best in your very own designer dress.
Nail Art for the Prom
Clean and defined nails at the prom are essential to completing your look. To make sure you are ready for your big night, make an overall assessment of your look and what will work best for your big night.
The nail trends for spring 2013 call for soft elegance, neon colors, and embellishments. Take pastels for example, they often go with almost any look and create a soft look that is unforgettable. If your dress is soft and romantic choose shades like mint and rose for your nails.
Embellished nails are created with rhinestones, bows, sequins and almost anything you can think of that will make your nails anything but ordinary. If your prom look is funky and fun, focus on the details of your dress and accessories. Will your nails make your look “over the top” or will they complete it. If you love bows, why not express that with your nails? It’s easy to do. Find your favorite bow (nail size of course) and let your creativity run free.
Take your French manicure to another level by adding sparkles and color. Focus on what compliments the hue or shade of your prom dress. Colors like teals, pinks, and blues make for interestingly chic nails. A short dress can be dolled up with an interesting nail design.
Finally, when all else fails go for a nude shade. It is fool proof and will complement any look you can come up with. Stick with skin tones and focus on making sure your nails are clean and filed. It’s all you need to party with friends and have a great time! If you are wearing a nude inspired dress, you may want to opt for this nail look.
